Governments have become increasingly aware of the heightened threat levels to their critical national infrastructures (CNI), which today have to include ICT, as well as the more traditional elements, such as utilities, transport and the “blue light” services. Their immediate challenge is to be able to identify and assess these threats and then develop the appropriate mitigation and recovery strategies.

The speakers will discuss their work with the UK Government to develop a toolset and methodology that addresses this challenge, in particular focusing on the modelling and simulation software that enables the optimum response to a threat scenario to part of the CNI to be developed and tested.
