4G/WiMax

Professor Jie Zhang and Dr Enjie Liu, Centre for Wireless Network Design, University of Bedfordshire

Mobile computing requires high speed, high capacity wireless networking, and the speakers from the Centre for Wireless Network Design at the University of Bedfordshire will give a joint talk looking at the cutting edge of wireless technology. The talk will cover 4G, the latest mobile broadband communication standard and WiMAX a wireless technology enabling the delivery of last mile wireless broadband access as an alternative to cable and DSL. The talk will provide a description of the technologies involved, a discussion on the similarities and differences between these different technologies and how they can improve the experience of using mobile computing.
