In this live session we will learn about spreadsheets, how they can save you time, effort and money.  A spreadsheet is a software program you can use to perform mathematical calculations quickly and easily.  It will total numbers – your income and expenditure, for example – but the clever thing about spreadsheets is that they can instantly show you the result of any changes in your figures. What if one of my expenses increases, how will that affect how much money I’m left with?  A spreadsheet can give you an instant result.  On top of all this a spreadsheet can produce all kinds of charts and graphs so that information is displayed clearly and attractively.

We will cover the basics: spreadsheet terminology, where to find help, opening, creating and navigating a spreadsheet workbook.  We will look at how to enter and edit values in your spreadsheets and how to enter and edit the formulas which the spreadsheet needs to do its calculations.  We will examine how to move and copy data and formulas, how to produce charts and graphs from the information we have entered and how to save and print your work.
