Stephen Wilson, Games Technician, University of Bedfordshire

This presentation will look at the history of the bedroom coder from early days of games development in the 1980s when bedroom coders ruled supreme, through the 1990s and early 2000s when the companies such as EA dominated game development, to its resurrection in the later 2000s with the rise of the mobile app for smart phones and tablets.

Stephen will then demonstrate the tools and techniques used by the modern bedroom coder, to develop games for the iPhone and for Games Jam events around the world.
