The Dynamics of Climate Change

Following on from our very successful meeting last June (2010) when Bob Thurlby and Kim Warren introduced us to system dynamics modelling in a very interactive session, we are running a similar event for our February meeting.

This will again led by Bob Thurlby, who will be presenting a system dynamics-based climate change model. Bob will use the model to discuss the potential impacts of climate change and how human activity is contributing to the impact. For the more technically and mathematically oriented, the structure of the model will be described. However, the highlight will be the opportunity for members to discuss climate change in groups and feed their results into the model to see if they can do better than our political leaders in addressing the potential threats.

Whether you are a climate change believer or sceptic, do come along, get involved in the discussions and see how system dynamics is being used in a very real way.
