RES, is one of the world’s most successful wind energy companies, building its first wind farm in Cornwall in 1992, and moving into pioneering new environmentally-friendly headquarters, Beaufort Court, in 2003. The zero emissions development is self-sufficient in renewable energy generated on-site. It includes a natural borehole cooling system and a 50m wind turbine visible from the M25. The site uses up-to-the minute sustainable building techniques, so we should learn a lot about energy efficiency on this visit. Strong shoes are recommended for the 7 ha site.
